While trying to intercept Templar activities in the West Indies Sea, Adéwalé is shipwrecked off the coast of Haiti. Making his way into Port-au-Prince, he establishes that the Templars are running with Bastienne Josèphe, the proprietor of a neighborhood brothel and a sympathizer to the Maroons, a faction of freedom fighters made from liberated slaves led through Augustin Dieufort. Despite his responsibilities to the Brotherhood of Assassins, Adéwalé turns into sympathetic to their reason and joins the Maroons in hijacking a vessel, Experto Crede, so as to break the slave alternate.
