The sequel of Among Us was announced in August 2020 but was canceled later and the team decided to focus on improving the original game. The game was inspired by a game “Mafia” and a Horror film The Thing. The concept of the game Among Us came to the mind of the co-founder of Innersloth-Marcus Bromander Marcus played Mafia science his childhood and it let him get an idea about the concept of Among Us.

GAMEPLAY

As discussed earlier Among Us is a multiplayer game. The game can be played by four to fifteen players. The room creators choose the imposters randomly from 1 to 3. If the number of imposters increases the game will be more complicated. All the players have to complete the task that is assigned for them and the imposters shall work along with them to prove themselves innocent and save themselves by showing that they are not the imposters. The imposters also need to wreck the other players and kill them all.

In the game, the players are randomly selected either as the imposters or the crew members. If the player is a crew member, they have to complete their missions and help others in catching the imposters without being killed by them. If the player is assigned as imposters then they are supposed to do more things like a wreck and kill the crew members without being caught by them. The imposters have features as they can see in the dark; they can also travel through ducts. The game ends with four possible endings.

They are: The crew wins if all the missions given to the crews are completed by them and if the crews can catch all the imposters and throw them out of the ship. The game ends and the imposters win if they can kill all the crew members or if they fail to stop getting wrecked.

The game provides the players with several features. They are as follows:

• Life of a Crewmate

The crewmates are honest and have many responsibilities. They are given numerous missions and they have to complete each of them skilfully. They have the task to watch out for the imposters and catch them. Reporting dead bodies and calling the emergency meetings is the works of crew members. The emergency meetings are held to kick the imposters out of the ship.

• Imposters

Killing innocent people, causing chaos are the activities of imposters. They also sabotage the crew members and kidnap innocent bystanders. They try to occupy the whole ship by killing all the crew members of the ship. Though they are few as compared to other members of the ship they are more powerful and have much more to do.

• Customization

The player can customize the way of their game. Like if they want to add more crew members or imposters, they can do it or they can even customize their task. Decrease the visibility of imposters and other customization can be done by the players. The payers can also choose the attire of the characters and the colors of their clothes. Very few games provide the features of customization and Among Us is one of them.

• Cross-platform play

The feature of cross-platform play is very rarely seen in video games. The feature allows the players of Android to play with the player of PlayStation 4.
